One of the most important events during summer vacation in Japan is the summer festival! These festivals are usually held in July or August. Many people, especially girls, wear yukata (a traditional Japanese summer garment) and enjoy the festivities, from children to the elderly.
We walk around the stalls, eat takoyaki, play guessing games, and chat with friends. The most exciting part is the fireworks that light up the night sky. At the Suwa Lake Fireworks Festival in Nagano Prefecture, around 40,000 fireworks are launched!
