If you come to Japan, you might be surprised and say, “Why are children carrying something that looks like a business bag?”
Of course, they’re not going to work—XD. That “business bag” is actually what’s called a randoseru in Japan.
How long do you think a child can use a randoseru?
They use it for at least six years, every weekday! Even if it’s treated roughly, most of them last throughout elementary school.
In Japan, some grandparents give a randoseru to their grandchildren as a gift when they enter school.
When I was a child, these durable bags only came in two colors: black for boys and red for girls (mine was navy though!).
Nowadays, they come in many colors—blue, yellow, gold, and more.
Would you buy a randoseru for your children as a school gift?
