Is there any special vacation in your country?
In Japan, we have several long holidays, such as Golden Week, the year-end and New Year holidays, and summer vacation.
Summer vacation is especially exciting for Japanese elementary school students. It usually lasts from mid-July to the end of August.
During this time, many children visit their grandparents’ houses, do their summer homework, and enjoy summer festivals. There are so many fun events in Japan!
Thinking back on my childhood, I can’t describe everything in one page, so I’ll just tell you about summer homework. In Japan, students are assigned a lot of homework over the summer. It’s hard to finish in just a week, so making a plan is really important.
In my case, I actually finished all my homework right at the beginning of the vacation!
